Nubus noctilucent

Photografic print

Print on cardboard

120 x 60 cm (w x h)

Nubus Noctilucent explores the interplay between day and night and the increasingly blurred boundary between them in our overexposed cities. On an overcast night, it is not uncommon to see both stars and clouds. Due to light pollution, artificial nocturnal light permeates the atmosphere, illuminating the clouds from below. This photographic work captures that phenomenon, showcasing the artificial light reflected and sent back to Earth by the clouds. The photograph is a panorama in both space and time. The photo is composed of several separate images. The camera, fixed in space, recorded the movement of the clouds, driven by the wind.(Ghent, 24 May 2022, 22:32)
