Vitrum nubibus II

Installation

Glass, steel and cool box

115 x 55 x 160 cm (w x d x h)

Vitrum Nubibus II served as the foundation for Vitrum Nubibus III. While the conceptual framework remains consistent, this earlier version represents a formative stage in the work's technical evolution. This conceptual glass installation serves as a poetic interpretation of a cloud. When air becomes fully saturated and continues to rise and cool, water vapor condenses into droplets, forming a cloud. In reality, clouds often form before reaching full saturation, as even the cleanest atmosphere contains tiny particles of dust or salt, which provide surfaces that facilitate condensation. This natural phenomenon is mirrored in Vitrum Nubibus II.The work features an organic glass cloud that acts as a carrier for water. Connected to a cooling system, the installation interacts with the humidity and temperature of its environment. Depending on these conditions, condensation forms on the outer surface of the glass.T he piece is dynamic, subject to the physical process of condensation. Viewers witness the emergence of droplets, their merging, and their eventual descent toward the ground—a process that typically occurs out of reach but is now brought into focus before their eyes.
