Although this concrete sculpture asserts itself through its sheer verticality, it simultaneously invites the viewer into a more intimate, microscopic observation. The true narrative of the work unfolds not just within the form of the concrete structure, but primarily within the fragile fissures of the glass. Here, a process of capillary action takes place: a deep black liquid is slowly drawn over the edge and into the fractures, where it evaporates to leave behind an accumulating crystal structure.
This slow-growing process references the theoretical paradox of black hole evaporation. While cosmic black holes are said to devour everything in their path, quantum physics predicts that information can still escape through fluctuations at the event horizon. This installation materializes this counterintuitive effect, physically transforming the black hole into a slowly expanding crystal structure of information – ultimately dissolving into an empty void.
